HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro XLR
HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro XLR with balanced, symmetrical XLR outputs for Studio-Equipment and larger speakers offers Max2Play compatibility for Multiroom HiFi.
Application field: High-End DAC for analogue connection of the raspberry Pi to a studio or stage speaker amplifier.
Important: It is recommended to use the DAC+ Pro XLR with a fitting case to make sure the connectors are not damaged when connecting and disconnecting.
The HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro is the big brother of the HiFiBerry DAC+. It is the more efficient and more powerful variant. The XLR version was developed especially for users looking for professional studio quality equipment with symmetrical outputs The Burr-Brown-Chip is used to offer the best sound quality possible. The gold-plated XLR connectors are optimal for audio cable connections. The ultra-low jitter clock generator (22.5792 MHz and 24.576 MHz) makes the DAC+ Pro XLR independent from the Raspberry Pi clock. The HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro XLR is always shipped with spacers to safely and lastingly connect your Raspberry Pi.
For more information on the advantages of the XLR version of the DAC+ Pro check out our blog post where we gathered some more details and documentation. The HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro XLR can control the output volume with Alsamixer. It can also utilize other applications that support the Alsamixer. The DAC+ Pro XLR can also be modified to use an external power supply for the analogue part. It is also possible to connect other I2S DAC's through soldering on the board (this expires the warranty).
The Max2Play image has been optimized for HiFiBerry sound cards and can be set up easily. It ensures the best support of the HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro XLR and Raspberry Pi combination. The HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro XLR can easily be installed with the help of a Max2Play extension. The extension installs all necessary kernel drivers. After activating the sound card, it can be used by the audio players (e.g. Squeezelite) for sound output. The volume settings are then automatically set to the optimal levels. Plug & Play with Max2Play especially for HiFiBerry sound cards
Max2Play offers a browser-based administration interface for Raspberry Pi on a Linux basis. With Max2Play, applications (Max2Play extensions) can be installed and administrated on a minicomputer without any Linux knowledge. The controls can be accessed via smartphone, tablet or computer, without connecting a mouse or keyboard to the minicomputer. The Max2Play image has been optimized for HiFiBerry sound cards and can be set up easily.
