The HiFiBerry DAC+ Light Bundle is our first Max2Play bundle under 100 € which makes it the perfect starter set. The DAC+ Light is the smaller brother of the HiFiBerry DAC+ and features another chipset (ESS instead of Burr-Brown).

Fields of Application:

To play music with an amplifier. This amplifier can connect to the Raspberry Pi's output through the analog connection of the DAC+ Light. Optimal for Multi-Room Audio Setups. Just connect the components and directly enjoy the advantages of Max2Play and the HifFiBerry DAC+ Light.
Please note: The HiFiBerry DAC+ Light does not feature any hardware volume control, therefore we recommend the HiFiBerry DAC+ Bundle.

Plug & Play with Max2Play especially for HiFiBerry sound cards

Max2Play offers a browser-based administration interface for Raspberry Pi on a Linux basis. With Max2Play, applications (Max2Play extensions) can be installed and administrated on a minicomputer without any Linux knowledge. The controls can be accessed via smartphone, tablet or computer, without connecting a mouse or keyboard to the minicomputer.

The HiFiBerry DAC+ light can easily be installed with the help of a Max2Play extension. The extension installs all necessary kernel drivers. After activating the sound card, it can be used by the audio players (Squeeze technology, Airplay, etc.) for sound output.
